Modern educators serve in a time like no other. Previous generations of educators only had access to the resources that were physically able to be brought into the classroom. Schools would use the same curriculum and materials for decades. Now we have access to so many resources that it can be overwhelming. Too many choices and not enough time to analyze them can lead to confusion and we can’t be sure what to use. Because of this, I like to pull out a few resources that I have found useful in the hope that they will be useful to others as well.
Tri-State Autism Collaboration Website
Tri-State Autism Collaboration – This site is a collaboration between the state technical assistance programs from Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado. They compile great resources used to support students with autism. Many of the resources are helpful for students with other needs as well. Once you are on the site, click the tile you need and it will take you to a list of tools and ideas that can help your team.
Autism Internet Modules
Autism Internet Modules – Creating a free account on this site gives you access to over 50 learning modules that focus on supporting students with autism. Once you sign up, Click Get Started, then click View All Modules and you will be able to select the option that is best for you.
National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder
NPDC on ASD – The NPDC on ASD was established by a grant from the Office of Special Education Program. You can find information about their model of practice. You can also find a table of evidence-based practices that links to modules and resources created as part of the federal grant program.
