At the start of December, I set out to hit submit 31 times on things I had written. The point was to build some momentum in a new space as I left Twitter and to build a new habit. The daily goal also meant I couldn’t overthink things and had to be okay with letting things go without them being perfect.
It also meant I had to be strategic. Luckily, Substack allows posts to be scheduled so there were a few times I scheduled posts for days that I knew I would be busy. Posts included extensions or adjustments to things I’d written before, things I wanted to collect and share, and things that I thought would be good to document in more detail. Ultimately, I posted 31 times in 31 days and enjoyed the work it took to make it possible.
From now on I will continue to write and post here, but it will certainly be less frequent. Work, life, and subscriber inboxes probably couldn’t put up with the same rate of posts I had last month. My goal going forward is to have 100 posts in 2023—about 1 every 4 days. If you have things I’ve shared already that you would like me to expand on, please comment below. Regardless, I hope those who have found these posts have found them helpful or interesting. I’ve enjoyed how it helps me to reflect on the work I do and how I communicate my ideas.
The new year brings a great opportunity to everyone. Remember, if it is humanly possible it is available to you. Have a great year!
Congrats on completing your 31 days, looking forward to reading 100 in 2023!
