Planting Seeds
On any given day, you take actions, small and large, that you may never see the results of. You hope you are doing the right thing. You hope you are making things better. You hope it will have a positive impact on someone else.
Hopefully, you will see the fruit of your effort, but no one is owed an outcome. We can control what we can, and do what we must, but what happens after that is beyond us.
For 20 years I’ve been taking action, planting seeds, making an effort. I hoped it contributed to something I knew I might never see. Today, after 2 decades, I heard it had contributed to what I had wished. My fear of having not done enough was relieved, at least in part.
It’s funny how we tell ourselves it doesn’t matter if it is noticed, but when it is, it sure matters a lot.
